Wordpress and Squarespace are known as Content Management Systems (CMS). A CMS is a web application that is used to easily publish content, manage site changes, and create site structure without the technical knowledge of HTML/CSS code. Both systems are vetted platforms that are recognized for their user-friendly dashboards and strong SEO capabilities.
CounselingWise recommends both Wordpress and Squarespace because they allow our clients to seamlessly take over the management of their sites. This means that you can publish, edit, delete, and alter content all without the hassle of coming back to your development team for minor changes. Both CMSs are also flexible enough to handle simple, minimalistic projects as well as complex, multi-practitioner sites. Schedulers, payment systems, and autoresponders can be integrated as well.
For those clients who fancy themselves more tech-savvy, Wordpress would be the recommended platform as customizations are much easier to make on the backend. Generally Squarespace, while not as easy to customize, is considered stronger in terms of design.
